Meet the Doctors

Dr. John Acosta
Dr. Acosta is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with over 18 years experience. He attended the University of Tennessee, Martin and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis. He also graduated dental school from the U.T. College of Dentistry. He completed his pediatric residency there as well. Dr. Acosta is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Society and has held leadership positions in the Memphis Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and The Tennessee Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Acosta is married to the former Terry Davis. They have two children, Hunter & Corey and are active members of St. Louis Church in Memphis.

Dr. Adam Fitzhugh
Born and raised in Memphis, Dr. Adam Fitzhugh is one of PDG's family dentists. He attended Christian Brothers High School & graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Fitzhugh continued his studies at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014. His wife, Kayla, is a registered nurse. Dr. Fitzhugh and Kayla enjoy spending time together at Shelby Farms with their dogs. He also enjoys building and flying remote control airplanes. They are both members at Hope Presbyterian Church. Dr. Fitzhugh is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Memphis Dental Society. His decision to practice dentistry is based on a passion to work one-on-one with individuals & boost his patient's quality of live. Dr. Fitzhugh has volunteered with the Bellevue Baptist Mobile Dental Clinic, Give Kids A Smile and seeks to continue his volunteer service around the local community.

Dr. Todd Smith
Dr. Todd Smith is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with over 5 years of both teaching and practicing pediatric dentistry. He is a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology. Todd was then accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and completed his training in 2007. During his time in dental school, Dr. Smith received numerous honors for both academic and clinical accomplishments. Following dental school he became a full time faculty member at the college of dentistry because of his passion for teaching students. Todd then went on to complete a pediatric dentistry residency in 2010. On a personal note, Dr. Smith is an active outdoorsman who loves to ride bikes and to fish. He stays very active in his community organizing health fairs and community outreach on a monthly basis. Dr. Smith is also very active in organized dentistry, being a member of ADA, TDA, AAPD, NDA, and the SCDA.
